Relax With a Movie Under the Stars

Now that winter’s on the wing and warm weather is settling in, everyone wants to be outside as much as possible. Consequently, the parks and trails get crowded on the weekends as people enjoy biking, hiking, camping and picnics. But the setting sun doesn’t mean you have to go back inside. With outdoor movies you can still enjoy the outdoors while you unwind and recover from such a full day of activity.

At night, nature creates a completely different setting to enjoy. Cool dark skies glitter with stars and the soft hum of insects is the loudest noise you’ll hear. With the expansive area available in back yards, fields and parks, you can get a lot of friends together to enjoy an outdoor movie. Even though there isn’t a lot of talking taking place during a movie, it always seems like movies are more enjoyable when they are viewed by larger groups of people.

In preparation for your own outdoor movie event, you might want some mosquito repellent or candles, a pile of blankets and a couple refreshments. It’s easy to make your own outdoor movies with a laptop, some speakers and a projector and a screen. Sometimes a white sheet is good enough for your picture. Or you can hire professionals with high quality equipment to ensure that everything goes smoothly.

No matter how you set them up, outdoor movies are a great way to enjoy the outdoors, your favorite films and your friends. I would only recommend them in the summer though. Only Eskimos would really be up for and outdoor movie in the winter.
