Now that winter’s on the wing and warm weather is settling in, everyone wants to be outside as much as possible. Consequently, the parks and trails get crowded on the weekends as people enjoy biking, hiking, camping and picnics. But the setting sun doesn’t mean you have to go back inside. With outdoor movies you can still enjoy the outdoors while you unwind and recover from such a full day of activity.
At night, nature creates a completely different setting to enjoy. Cool dark skies glitter with stars and the soft hum of insects is the loudest noise you’ll hear. With the expansive area available in back yards, fields and parks, you can get a lot of friends together to enjoy an outdoor movie. Even though there isn’t a lot of talking taking place during a movie, it always seems like movies are more enjoyable when they are viewed by larger groups of people.

Music really does affect our emotions, our physical well-being and our mental capacity. Don’t believe me? Then I would tell you to conduct a little experiment. Just try watching the next scary movie you rent on mute and you’ll see what I mean. The mood music really does a lot of the work to get you all psyched-out. For me, eerie music even makes my muscles tense up.
Music can do more than make us tense though. If it can swing your emotions one way, then why not the other? Fortunately, it does work both ways. Consequently, more and more people are discovering the benefits of relaxation music. A few of the benefits include the ability to sleep, think, relax and even heal better than you could before. As unbelievable as it sounds, these are not outlandish claims. Hundreds or doctors and scientists have tested the effects that music produces and found that it can make a big different in physical, mental and emotional well-being.

I grew up loving water and sun. Maybe that is partly due to the fact that water skiing, swimming and kayaking are important summer activities in my family and maybe it just has to do with the fact that most everybody I know loves sunshine. In fact, as humans we need it. We aren’t as dependent on the sun as plants, but without enough exposure to the sun we wouldn’t get enough vitamin D in our systems.

I have often worried about my future - financially speaking. There are so many potential problems and obstacles facing us - the most important of which may be credit. As a newly anointed “adult” at the age of 18, I decided to apply for a credit card. Unfortunately I was approved for a low interest credit card and soon found myself on the dark side of debt and faced a steep climb for the next several years.
It’s fairly easy to tell someone how not to get into the credit trap, but quite another thing altogether to tell them how to get out of it in the inevitable, albeit unfortunate event that they find themselves facing bad credit issues.

Tanks are usually used to store large volumes of liquid or gas. Sometimes we store materials to keep them from contaminating the environment and other times we store them for future use. A few substances that are commonly stored in tanks include water, oil, propane, oxygen, gas, sewage and nuclear waste.
Whether we are storing substances for future use or for environmental conservation, it is very important to avoid leaks. Even a small leak can lead to catastrophe. For example, a leaking oxygen tank could mean no air to breathe at the bottom of the ocean and a leaking propane tank can lead to an explosion. And none of us would be pleased to learn that nuclear waste or raw sewage was leaking in our area. (more…)

There are three parts to a house that really define it as a home. The roof and walls are the first two, and some might argue that those would suffice, but a barn has walls and a roof, a shed has walls and a roof, and they are hardly worthy of “home” status. Walls and a roof are certainly essential, but not the only factors in creating a house. Flooring is what separates us from the livestock, and just because it’s on the ground, doesn’t make it a floor.

I love the convenience of having a printer at home, but I’m not a big fan of high priced printer ink cartridges. So, I did a little online shopping. In a matter of minutes I was able to find two different stores that sold the same name brand ink cartridge for very different prices. One store sold the ink cartridge for $13 and the other sold it for $100. Not bad savings for a couple of minutes on the computer. Having had so much success with my initial investigation, I decided to look for prices that were even better.

Many people would say that we leave in the supreme age of science. Some other types of people might say that we live in the supreme of fashion. There are times when these two methodologies mesh fairly well, such as the use of science (technology) to enhance the ideas of beauty and fashion. iPods, cell phones, PDAs and the like are great examples of this, as are the numerous types of plastic surgery that are well sought out in many circles.
Botox, liposuction, and Breast augmentation in California, New York, and other cultural and fashion Meccas, or breast implants as they are more commonly called, are all great examples of how the world of science has infiltrated the world of beauty and fashion and made the idea of personal image, become more attainable.

There were always a lot of activities, dances and concerts to see on campus, but one of the best ones I went to was an outdoor movie. Students were sprawled out all over the grass watching The Sand Lot play on a giant screen. The screen was so big that it was easy for me to see the picture even though I was at the back of the crowd.
Sometimes, after a long day at work or way too much studying for school, the most appealing way to spend an evening is to kick back and relax with a movie. Outdoor movies are especially fun because there is a lot of fresh air, you can curl up in some blankets and the stars are a beautiful backdrop. Outdoor movie screens are usually pretty large too, so it’s easier to share a film with even more friends than normal.

I find that the older I get, the more I enjoy warm weather. As a kid I spent tons of time out in the snow building forts, sledding, skiing and launching snowballs at my siblings, but now my idea of a good time is a generous amount of sun and some fresh air. Add some water to that list, and you’ve got a great combination. After all, even sun can be overbearing if you don’t have a way to cool off.
I was lucky enough to go to Thailand on my honeymoon and during the trip I went kayaking and snorkeling for the first time in my life. The tropical waters of southern Thailand were warm and clear and it felt good to glide through the water in my own little kayak. Unfortunately, a trip to Thailand took twenty hours or more of travel time.
